What is Skilled worker visa?

A Skilled Worker Visa will let you to stay in the UK or to come to the UK to carry out an eligible job role with approval from an employer. The Skilled Worker Visa is a replacement of the Tier 2 (General) work visa. Because of coronavirus (COVID-19) there are some health workers and the families for theirs that will get their visas extended for free.

Some of the factors that are considered for see if you are eligible:


  • Approval by the Home Office and to be working for a UK employer.
  • Details of you job role that you have been offered in the UK to be stated on a ‘certificate of sponsorship’.
  • The job that you are doing must be listed on an eligible occupation.
  • Based of the type of work that you may be doing, to be paid minimum wae.
