What are HR policies and procedures?

Organisations no matter big or small need to have clear, legally defensible policies and procedures that guide the workplace. These HR policies and procedures should be in written format and must be included in the employee handbook. HR is responsible for developing the employee handbook and they must ensure that it is reviewed by an employment law expert to protect the business from any future liability. HR managers should discuss these policies and procedures with employees and other stakeholders to eliminate any ambiguity.
